September 15, 2014 By HBI

North West Rail Link skytrainThe second stage of the North West rail link includes the “Sky train” supporting a a new high frequency single deck train system to deliver rapid transport services in Sydney’s North West…

The NWRL project is a key priority for the NSW Government. The NWRL will deliver a new high frequency single deck train system initially operating as a shuttle between Cudgegong Road and Chatswood. The permanent infrastructure delivered as part of the North West Rail Line Surface and Viaduct Civil works includes approximately 4.5 km of viaduct between Balmoral Road and Rouse Hill Station including crossings over Memorial Avenue, Samantha Riley Drive, Windsor Road, Sanctuary Drive and White Hart Drive; bulk earthworks requirements including all cut, fill and embankments between Balmoral Road and Cudgegong Road, and bridges over Windsor Road at Rouse Hill and over Second Ponds Creek. It also provides for station structures to be incorporated onto the viaduct at the Kellyville and Rouse Hill.

Our role as Environmental Representative was to independently oversee the implementation of all environmental management plans and monitoring programs, independently advise the Proponent on its compliance obligations against all relevant requirements of the Concept Plan, Project Approval and Statement of Commitments, permits and licenses and have the authority and independence to require reasonable steps to be taken to avoid or minimise unintended or adverse environmental impacts.
