In 2011 approval was granted to the Australian Rail Track Corporation to construct and operate the project known as the Nundah Bank Third Track Project delivered by the Upper Hunter Valley Alliance.
This project involved the construction and operation of a third rail track and ancillary infrastructure adjacent to the Main North Line between the towns of Singleton and Camberwell in the Hunter Valley. Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 applied to the Project under the provisions of the Major Development SEPP 2005 with approval subject to compliance with Conditions of Approval.
Our role as Environmental Representative was to be the principal point of advice in relation to the environmental performance of the project; to oversee the implementation of all environmental management plans and monitoring programs required under this approval, and advise the Proponent upon achievement of these plans; to consider and advise the Proponent on its compliance obligations against all matters specified in the Conditions of Approval and all other licences and approvals related to the environmental performance and impacts of the project.
