The Wynyard Walk Project provides a world-class, fully-accessible pedestrian link between Wynyard Station, the developing CBD western corridor and Barangaroo.
The walkway allows pedestrians to get from Wynyard transport hub to the Barangaroo waterfront in approximately six minutes, avoiding steep inclines and all road crossings. Key features include a new western entrance to Wynyard Station providing direct access on to the station concourse; a new pedestrian tunnel from Wynyard Station to Napoleon Street (approx. 200m long), and a bridge over Sussex Street, with lifts and escalators.
As Environmental Management Representative, Healthy Buildings International was responsible for considering and advising the Proponent on the Project Approval and compliance with such. This included advice on the Project’s induction and training program, advice on the content and implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Control Maps, periodic audit of environmental activities to evaluate the implementation, effectiveness and level of compliance, taking requiring reasonable steps to be taken to avoid or minimise unintended or adverse environmental impacts with authority to recommend to “stop work” if required.
